Information Request Samples

So, you have some car-related questions. You've heard about the services provided by the AACA Library & Research Center, but you're not sure if they'll have what you need. Read through these samples of recent requests provided by Kim Miller, the AACA L&RC librarian.

A 1929 Oakland...

In April, a gentleman contacted the library requesting whatever information we might have on a 1929 Oakland. He is planning a full restoration of this vehicle and needed pictures, manuals, colors - basically anything we could provide. After researching his request in both the AACA Library collection and the Pontiac-Oakland Club's library (which we house), we were able to provide him with copies of sales catalogs, an owner's manual, a shop manual, parts book, wiring diagram, color information and periodical articles published at the time the car was new.

A 1932 Packard 900 series sedan...

Another recent request involved the procedure for starting and driving a 1932 Packard 900 series sedan. Unfortunately, while we could provide tune-up data on this car, we do not have any 1932 Packard owner's manuals or shop manuals. Maybe someone reading this will be able to help the library by donating these needed manuals.

A 1952 ACF-Brill C-44 bus...

Last year, we received a request from a transport museum in Canada regarding a 1952 ACF-Brill C-44 bus. They needed electrical information. We have a service manual for this bus and were able to provide them with the information they needed for their restoration.

If the staff was able to help these people, they should be able to help you, too!
